The Magic of the Flat Panel Plasma Television

Invented in the 60s, the plasma flat panel television is truly defining what the home theatre experience should be. The plasma flat panel television truly delivers the feeling of sitting in the movie theater, without the sticky floors and rude people with laser pointers.

What a Television was Truly Meant to be

The flat panel plasma television uses technology that is remarkably different than the everyday cathode tube "boob tubes". With Xenon and Neon (yes Xenon is an actual gas) gases flow between two pieces of glass and the result of all that flowing gas is dazzling color, 16 million unique colors, to more precise. Even though the flat panel plasma television is considerably larger than the everyday television, it is only 4 inches thick, which makes it perfect for mounting on walls.

One of the many advantages of the plasma flat panel television is that it has a much longer life than a goldfish. All joking aside, the typical flat panel plasma television has about 60,000 hours before if decreases to half-life (half-life occurs when the screen quality is reduced by half). Before you purchase your flat panel plasma television you should probably take a good look at the warranty, just to be sure that you are covered for any eventuality. Also, there are a few pros and cons you should consider before purchase.

Pros of the Flat Panel Plasma Television

There are certain advantages of a flat panel plasma television, including: it has a slim design making it wall mountable, it is larger than LCD screens, it has more viewing angles than a LCD screen, it has a much better contrast ratio than a LCD screen, and it has an incredibly faster response time.

Cons of the Flat Panel Plasma Television

As with almost anything else, there are also certain disadvantages to flat panel plasma television, such as the fact that: plasma displays are fragile which can make them incredibly difficult to ship and install, they are rather expensive, the first 2000 hours is its brightest period and every hour thereafter, the display will gradually dim, and when at higher elevations of usually about 6000 ft or higher, they begin to sound like humming birds.

Why are Flat Panel Plasma Televisions Magical?

What a silly question. A flat panel plasma television is considered as being magical simply because it is extraordinary in itself. These televisions can turn a simple living room into Radio City Music Hall. They can make watching the tape of your son's high school football game a city-wide event. The possibilities are endless (although I draw the line at using them to signal alien life), and the technology is ever-advancing. One day soon, every family in America will own one, and they, too, will be enchanted by the magic it holds in its clear and dazzling screen.
