White Sony PSP
At least the headphones will match now. Remember when the PSP first came out and everyone groaned about the sleek, black PSP with the white headphones?
The Price is right? Wrong!
Although the white Sony PSP has been released in Japan, there is still no concrete word when it will be released in the United States. Of course, anyone in the US or elsewhere can get one on Ebay or plenty of other online sites - for a price. I've seen them selling from $400 to $1400 US dollars. I don't think I understand this. If my PSP were to break, and they had a white one and it didn't cost any more than the black one, then yes, I would love to have the nice clean new white Sony PSP.
In the meantime, I wish I were the one selling the White Sony PSP. I haven't heard of any differences in the two colors whatsoever. I've compared the specs from the white ones on sale online to the specs of the black ones and I can find no differences. Certainly not hundreds and hundreds of dollars of difference.
I know what it is. If the stores were stocked aplenty with the white Sony PSP, it wouldn't be like this. But for the people in the countries that are unable to get this little gem, it has become valuable.
Equal Opportunity PSP
Don't get me wrong. I love the PSP as much as the next guy. I'm just not trading in a year's worth of groceries for it. After all, does it not put its disk in the same way as the rest of them? White or black, you've got to love the PSP. When I think of all the junk I used to pack in a weekend bag: books, CDs and CD player, movies, either VHS or DVD and crossword puzzles either in a magazine or as of late, the New York Times electronic crossword puzzle thingy. I have to have plenty to do.
Now? Now I pack a change of clothes and my Sony PSP. Not my white Sony PSP or my black Sony PSP, but just my PSP. What can I say? I'm an equal-opportunity gamer. I mean, let's say I'm doing the game sharing thing halfway across the world with someone I don't even know. Do you honestly think I'm gonna ask them what color their PSP is? What would they think of me?
I don't care. White or black, I love my PSP!
